Dominic West teases 'tumultuous' drama in The Crown season 5 and reveals his love for Prince Charles
Dominic West has teased fans by speaking about the drama we can expect from the fifth season of Netflix's The Crown
Dominic West, who is set to play Prince Charles in the next season of The Crown, has opened up about what fans can expect from the latest installment of royal drama.
The Crown season 5 is set to be released in November 2022, and fans cannot wait to watch this new season that will focus on the Royal Family in the 90s. Dominic West, who plays Prince Charles, recently revealed that this season of the show will be just as gripping as the former ones and will cover some of the more 'tumultuous' storylines.
"It will be as tumultuous as it gets, I think," Dominic West told Deadline.
Season five of The Crown is set to cover a number of relationship breakdowns within the Royal Family, and it may possibly cover Princess Diana's sudden death in 1997. This could explain why the actor gave viewers a fair warning that they'll need to be prepared for the emotional next season.
While speaking to Deadline, Dominic also spoke about his affection for Prince Charles and said that he actually 'loves' the Prince of Wales. "I love the man. He’s a force for good, he really is an extraordinary man," he said.
As Dominic is playing Prince Charles, it's fortunate that he empathizes with the real-life figure, something that other members of the cast have also expressed about their characters as they look towards the release of the penultimate season.
Elizabeth Debecki, who is starring opposite Dominic as Princess Diana, spoke about being inspired by Diana back when her role was first announced. "She’s such an important figure. She was such a remarkable human being, and so the idea of stepping into it is daunting but very exciting," Elizabeth told Good Morning America.

Fans can't wait for season five which will also cover the Queen's 'Annus Horriblis', the Latin term that refers to the 'horrible year' the Queen refered to in a speech in 1992.
Her Majesty said at the time, "1992 is not a year on which I shall look back with undiluted pleasure. In the words of one of my more sympathetic correspondents, it has turned out to be an 'Annus Horribilis'."
In 1992, Prince Andrew announced his separation from Sarah Ferguson, as did Prince Charles from Diana. Princess Anne finalized her divorce from her first husband Mark Philips, and to boot, part of Windsor Castle caught fire, and the bombshell biography, Diana: Her True Story, was published by Andrew Morton.
The Crown won’t continue past season 6, but any pivotal events from the 90s that are missed from season five will likely be covered in the final season of the show.
