Consider this your official reminder to start thinking about Christmas. Yes, it’s only November, but with the festive season on the horizon next month and Christmas Day less than 50 days away, there’s never been a better time to start thinking about it.
The key to enjoying the holiday season is preparation. Get ahead of the planning - whether that’s gift shopping, making a list of the best Christmas food you’re going to buy this year and sizing up the turkey for Thanksgiving, or working out where all those guests you're hosting are going to actually sleep. A little forward planning and then you may actually feel able to live in the moment and enjoy the Holidays for what they are; a special time to spend with family and friends.
To help you be successfully and sufficiently prepared for this year’s festive season, we’ve dedicated our November Shopping Edit to the buys that are worth investing in for the Holidays. Whether that’s gift ideas for someone you love or a Christmas party outfit you’ll feel excited to wear when the time comes.
Strikes, supply chain issues and limited stock will all be key factors in shopping this season, so our advice is if you see something you like, get it while you still can (but check to make sure you can return it first, just in case!)
What to buy in November: The W&H shopping edit
1. L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Clinical 12% Pure Vitamin C Serum
All of the best vitamin C serums (opens in new tab) have one thing in common – costliness. This is somewhat justified by the fact that Vit C is a tricky-to-formulate fusspot that'll only do its job in specific forms (ascorbic acid), percentages (10%+), and packaging (light and airproof, please)
Happily, L'Oreal Paris has the chunky research and development budget to make this excellent serum, which ticks all the boxes at a democratic price. It's highly stable, with an unusually silky texture and salicylic acid for gentle pore-clearing. Use it every morning for environmental protection, texture improvements, and glow.
2. This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray Limited-Edition
This is not a new beauty product, just a really excellent one we have been using for years in a fancy, limited-edition bottle.
This 99% natural mist basically kicked off a whole sleep-wellness beauty genre. It smells amazing – a therapeutic blend of lavender camomile and vetiver – and really does create a calming atmosphere wherever you spray it. That may be your pillow, your pyjamas or maybe the throw on your sofa for a cheeky afternoon nap.

3. JVN Complete Conditioning Mist
Calling all members of the haircare slackers club (if you have an eight-step skin routine but barely manage a biannual hair mask, welcome!)
First order of business: buy this. It's so easy there's really no excuse for continued neglect. In a two-second spritz, it detangles and defrizzes, making strands all silky-soft and swishy. The chunky bottle is great value as you only need one or two pumps each go. Plus, it smells glorious – kind of expensive and Autumnal with cashmere musk, amber and mandarin.

4. The Organic Pharmacy Advanced Firming HCC7 Ampoules
A brand new launch from The Organic Pharmacy, a tired, tested and much loved brand here at Woman&Home. This 7 day, intensely hydrating treatment is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. We found that it helped to brighten and deeply hydrate the skin, leaving it looking plumper after use thanks to the collagen boosting results.
