According to recent reports, the Duke of Sussex is reportedly forgoing his traditional Christmas hunt with the rest of the royals, given his wife Meghan Markle's dislike of the activity.
Hunting has long been a favoured past-time of the royal family, and Prince Harry is no exception.
He is known to join his family on their annual Christmas shoots at Sandringham, as well as hunting big game in Africa, and has partaken in the sport since he was young.
But it seems that this Christmas is set to be very different, however, as the Daily Mail have reported that Harry will not take part in the annual festive hunt with his family to avoid upsetting his animal-loving wife Meghan Markle.
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, is an advocate of animal rescue and often posted pictures photos of her two rescue dogs, Bogart and Guy to Instagram. She’s also spoken about eating vegan during the week and wearing vegan leather.
Of course, the reports have not come from the palace or Prince Harry or Meghan. But we reckon it’s all part and parcel of the changes you make for your significant other!
If the rumours hold true, this will be the second time Harry has changed his behaviour for his wife. Earlier this year, the Mail on Sunday reported that Harry gave up smoking for health-conscious Meghan.
Harry learned to shoot as a child and has joined his father, the Prince of Wales, on hunting trips from the age of 12.
Prince William and his wife Catherine are also said to be big fans of hunting, and are said to hold their own shooting parties.
Despite being a regular guest at shooting parties at home and abroad, Prince Harry is a keen conservationist and has been involved in a number of projects over the years, including a rhino conservation project in Namibia in 2015 and an elephant rescue initiative in southern Africa in 2016.
Last year, there was much speculation about Meghan’s reaction to Harry’s hunting, particularly after reports in December 2017 that Harry had attended one of his friend’s shooting parties in Germany after Meghan had flown back to LA.
We’re sure that the Duke and Duchess will enjoy their first Christmas as a married couple whatever happens this year at Sandringham.
