Prince Charles enjoyed all the mushy feels during his first meeting with Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor earlier this month, a royal insider has revealed.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally introduced their baby daughter to the Prince of Wales at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June, almost a full year on from the day that she was born. The future King also spent some long overdue time with the couple's three-year-old son, Archie, whom he had not seen in person since 2019.
It's now understood that both future King and his Queen Consort, Duchess Camilla, were delighted by the Sussex reunion, which likely took place at Frogmore Cottage near Windsor Castle.
"The prince and the duchess were absolutely thrilled to see them," the source revealed. "He hadn't met Lili, his granddaughter, and so to meet her was very emotional, a very, very wonderful thing."

It was also 'very special' for Prince Charles to see Archie, the source added. The insight comes shortly after Harry and Meghan released the first pictures of baby Lilibet, much to the excitement of royal fans.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first trip to the UK together since withdrawing from the Royal Family and emigrating to North America in early 2020 at the beginning of June, to attend the nationwide celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Queen's reign.

Despite speculation that Harry and Meghan might 'freelance' with independent projects during their stay, the A-list couple maintained a low profile throughout the visit - attending just one engagement publicly over the course of the extended bank holiday weekend. They even left the UK before the festivities had concluded, flying back to California during the Platinum Pageant on the final day of the Jubilee.
