Why the Duchess of Cambridge may not attend Princess Eugenie’s wedding

Princess Eugenie's autumn wedding is now just over two months away, but there may be one notable member of the royal family absent from the celebrations.

According to the Express, the Duchess of Cambridge may be forced to skip her husband’s cousin’s wedding, because of her sister Pippa Middleton’s due date.

While Princess Eugenie is getting married on 12th October, it’s thought that Pippa Middleton’s due date is also sometime in October.

On 7th June, in a column for Waitrose Weekend magazine, Catherine’s sister revealed that she had just completed her first trimester – meaning an October due date would match up perfectly.

So, if the timings work out to be unlucky, with Pippa giving birth on the same day as Eugenie’s wedding, it’s likely that the Duchess will not show up on the royal’s big day.

Pippa and Catherine are known to be very close, even since the Duchess joined the royal family.

The pair still spend plenty of time together, and Pippa was Catherine’s very first visitor at Kensington Palace when she gave birth to her third child, Prince Louis.

So it seems likely that the Duchess would be keen to be by her sisters side when she welcomes her very first baby into the world.

However – the chances of the two significant events falling on the very same day do seem slim – so we’re still keeping our fingers crossed for an appearance from the Duchess of Cambridge on Princess Eugenie’s wedding day.

The second royal wedding of the year is expected to attract huge crowds and a bevy of famous faces – although perhaps not on the scale of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent wedding.

It’s thought that Eugenie’s close friend, Ellie Goulding will be in attendance – as might her pals Robbie Williams and the Beckham family.

We can’t wait to see who will attend the wedding!
