Harry and Meghan's 'creative' wedding anniversary celebrations have been revealed
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle treated themselves to a special activity to celebrate their second wedding anniversary

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be royal millionaires, but when it comes to celebrating milestone occasions, they're a lot more like us than you'd think.
- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's quiet second wedding anniversary celebrations have been revealed in the updated version of the popular royal memoir, Finding Freedom.
- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had to amend their festivities to be Covid-safe, but that didn't stop the loved-up couple from enjoying the occasion.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle enjoyed a surprisingly lowkey second wedding anniversary last year, opting to mark the occasion with a date night in rather than a night on the town.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who tied the knot in a lavish royal ceremony at Windsor Castle in May 2018, celebrated an eventful 24 months together in a private residence with a highly relatable pandemic activity—eating takeout.
At the time, Meghan and Harry had not yet purchased the $14 million Santa Barbara mansion they live in today and were reportedly staying at Tyler Perry's house in Los Angeles. Like many Covid-conscious folks, the couple chose to order delivery food in lieu of visiting a restaurant to minimize their risk of transmitting or catching the virus.
According to the updated epilogue of Finding Freedom, Meghan and Harry tucked into a delicious feast of their go-to takeout—rounded off by some tasty beverages.
"With restaurant outing off-limits, the couple had to get a little creative in May for their second-anniversary festivities at home, spending part of the day looking back at their 2018 with a number of people who had been part of the wedding festivities, including vendors that had helped bring their magical Windsor Castle ceremony to life," authors Carolyn Durand Omid Scobie wrote.
"They capped off the day with a Southern Californian favorite: Mexican food ordered from a popular local restaurant, washed down with margaritas (alcoholic for him, nonalcoholic for her)."

While their exact order remains unknown, it's very possible that Meghan went for a plant-based option to commemorate the milestone. The Suits star, who is a self-professed animal lover, revealed in 2016 that she tries to observe a vegan diet throughout the week, allowing for some flexibility on Saturday and Sunday.
Sources close to Meghan have also said she prefers her dishes to be veggie-heavy and uses plant foods rather than animal products when whipping up dishes for herself and her family of four.
As for anniversary presents, the Duke and Duchess kept things simple by exchanging cotton gifts. It's a longstanding tradition for a couple to celebrate two years of marriage by sharing and/or receiving items made of cotton, a material that symbolizes strength and comfort.
The new edition of Finding Freedom will hit shelves on 31 August.
