Geri Halliwell's mother mistaken for Meryl Streep in adorable birthday post
Geri Halliwell's mother shares an uncanny resemblance with the Doubt star
If Geri Halliwell's mother ever wants a side hustle, she could certainly land a gig as a Meryl Streep Wannabe.
Ginger Spice has delighted—and confused—fans with her latest Instagram post, which shows the '90s popstar posing with her stunning mother and a couple of adorable lapdogs.
Geri shared the sweet photo in celebration of the Spanish-born Ana María Hidalgo's birthday, along with a throwback snap of the pair from her Spice Girls days.
"Happy birthday, Mama. We love you! Thank you for being a wonderful, strong, and caring mother and grandmother figure in our lives 💕" she captioned the post.

It's not often that the British girl band icon treats the public to a glimpse of her mom, who has reportedly always been close with her superstar daughter, and fans were quick to share their appreciation—in both English and en Espanol.
"Gorgeous 😍 Happy Birthday, Mama ❤️❤️" one follower commented.
"Feliz Cumple, Sra. Ana!!!" another wrote.

While most of Geri fans took the opportunity to send their birthday wishes, others couldn't help but notice Ana María's uncanny resemblance to another A-list celebrity.
"Is that… Meryl Streep? 😍" influencer Christian Bendek asked. Sure enough, there are striking similarities between the Oscar-winning actor and the Spice Girls matriarch, who both also happen to be the same age.
And that's not all the two women have in common. Like Meryl, Ana María is also a proud grandmother.
Geri gave birth to her first child, Bluebell Madonna, in 2006, before welcoming her second, Montague George Hector, in 2017. She has credited Ana María, who came to Britain aged just 21, as a major inspiration for her own parenting style. "She has worked her butt off for me, such a protective mother," Geri said in a Youtube interview for her Rainbow Woman series earlier this year. "She has set an example for life and work."
She also called Ana Maríá "one of my favorite people in the world" in the clip, before greeting her with a bouquet of flowers and a warm hug. Looks like the lyrics of the Spice Girls' hit song Mama have stayed with Geri to this day.
