Friends fans treated to Friends Reunion part 2 as the cast come together with James Corden for this unforgettable performance on The Late Late Show
The Friends cast and James Corden delighted The Late Late Show viewers with a behind-the-scenes video at the Friends Reunion
The Friends Reunion 2021 was the event of the year for fans, but now they’ve been treated to an unexpected second trip down memory lane as the cast appeared in a behind-the-scenes video aired on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
The Friends Reunion landed in May, though the excitement surrounding the highly-anticipated show has far from ended. From the moment the Friends Reunion trailer finally dropped, showing the old gang back together, we knew we were in for a treat. Not only that, but the Friends Reunion saw many other famous faces make an appearance, including former guest star Reese Witherspoon and Lady Gaga who looked just like Phoebe Buffay during a stellar rendition of Smelly Cat. If that wasn't impressive enough, Phoebe's actor Lisa Kudrow has recently revealed the celebrity that left her completely starstruck during Friends: The Reunion.
But they weren’t the only celebrities to feature, as everyone’s favorite talk-show host, James Corden, presented the Friends Reunion. And it was while visiting the Warner Brothers Studios ahead of the special airing that a brilliant video was filmed.
The Late Late Show With James Corden is perhaps best known for it’s most popular Carpool Karaoke segment. This sees James invite celebrity musical guests to sing along to their songs with him in a car. And this week the segment returned with an extra nostalgic twist. In a never-before-seen video aired on The Late Late Show, viewers got to see James and Friends' six main cast members giving a very special performance of the Friends theme tune.
Starting with Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow flagging James down in a golf buggy as he introduced the video, the three of them were soon joined by Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc, followed by Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.
Chatting warmly to the audience as he drove the buggy, James revealed that he was on his way to the iconic Stage 24, where one of the biggest reunions in TV history was about to happen. After some hilarious back and forth between the six stars and James, he then led into the moment fans had all been waiting for!
“Here’s the thing,” he began. “We’re all in a car together and I was wondering if it was ok with you if we could listen to some music, would that be ok?”

“Yes,” Lisa Kudrow replied immediately, echoed by her fellow stars and James didn’t disappoint as the opening bars of Friends’ theme tune, ‘I’ll Be There For You’ by The Rembrandts, soon started to play.
Delighted by the nostalgic music choice, it wasn’t long before the group began to sing along. James, Lisa and Courteney’s performances were especially enthusiastic, though as the camera zoomed in during the infamous ‘clapping section’, Jennifer and Matt were just as captivating with their excitement and David and Matthew also joined in happily from the back of the golf buggy.
As the song drew to a close, Courteney was quick to express her excitement at getting to take part in her very own Friends Reunion Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, exclaiming: “I've always wanted to do carpool karaoke!”
Speaking with James ahead of this memorable moment, the cast had discussed their reactions to being back together after so much time had passed. Jennifer described the feeling of walking on to the set for the first time, remarking: “We didn’t expect it to hit us as hard as it hit us, I think”.
“It was really meaningful and emotional to be on the set and then to finally be in the same room together after all this time was really kind of beautiful,” David Schwimmer explained.
Friends: The Reunion aired on HBO Max on May 27 2021, 17 years after the final episode of Friends was broadcast. Now the nostalgia, hilarity and warmth of the show will live on even more in the minds of fans through this wonderful special.
Though the Friends Reunion Carpool Karaoke with James Corden will likely be an extra special memory the cast and host will also treasure in the years to come.
