There's not long to wait until Friends: The Reunion hits screens, with the much-hyped special coming to HBO Max on May 27.

The whole gang will be back together again, along with a host of other celebrities making some exciting guest appearances. Among the confirmed for the reunion are David Beckham, Lady Gaga, Cara Delevingne, Kit Harington, and Reese Witherspoon—to name just a few! (Remember Reese's appearance in the show as Rachel's spoilt and bitchy sister...21 years ago?)

But there was one famous face that Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, found particularly "exciting".

Lisa told the New York Post that when she saw Justin Bieber on set, she had to do a double-take.

“I was like, ‘Wait, that’s Justin Bieber, right?" she said. "Would he be here? Is he here? He’s really here—that’s Justin Bieber!

“That was kind of exciting. I’m throwing in a ‘kind of’ so that I seem a little cooler. It was exciting. I don’t get excited about meeting people—but Justin Bieber, he’s exciting.”

Lisa went on to explain that some of the celebrity guests were as much a surprise to the cast as they will be to Friends fans.

“There’s just a lot of surprises—like, things we weren’t expecting,” she said. “People showing up that we were surprised by. There’s a lot going on in it.”

Fans were recently treated to the Friends: The Reunion trailer for the latest episode—'The One Where They Get Back Together'.

The teaser shows the six original cast members gathering together on Warner Bro's Stage 24 where all ten seasons of the series were filmed.

The trailer shows the original lineup of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer reenacting iconic moments from the hit show.

Friends: The Reunion marks the first time the cast has all been together since 2004 when they wrapped up filming on series ten of the show.

The reunion special was meant to air in 2020, but filming was delayed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Fans can finally catch the episode next week, but those who are hoping to see what their favorite Friends character has been up to over the past ten years may be disappointed, as producers have made it clear that the show won't see the cast members in character.

"In order to avoid any misunderstanding about what this special is, we want to make it very clear that this is not a new, original episode of the series.

"The cast will be appearing as themselves, not as their beloved characters," a statement from HBO Max read, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Friends: The Reunion will air on 27 May on HBO Max.
