Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood has hinted that there is a big change being lined up for this year's series of the show - and it's definitely one ardent fans are going to like.
The Strictly judge appeared on This Morning with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langford to explain the chnages that are afoot… “This year is going to be very interesting,” he teased.
“Like Australia, they’re taking a leaf out of Australia’s book, and of course Dancing with the Stars in America, the judges will be dancing. I don’t know that Shirley Ballas knows that yet, but she will.
“We’ll dance with the contestants. You put yourself on the line, so to speak.”
At the moment the only chance viewers get to see the judges’ fancy footwork is when they arrive on set at the start of the show. But this huge change in the format of the show means we will really get to see their skills – especially as they’re all professional dancers themselves.
Craig added: “I did it in Australia and I absolutely loved it there. I danced with Courtney Act, which was absolutely fantastic. It was brilliant to come into the room to choreograph and to actually create an entire scenario and star in it yourself.
“And then we will be judged, that’s sort of the big thing. And I’m up, as most people know, for absolutely anything.”
While we know that Bruno Tonioli and head judge Shirley Ballas will be returning to the judging panel alongside Craig when the new series begins later this year, it still remains to be seen who will be joining them.
Strictly Come Dancing fans will know that Darcey Bussell has departed the show, but it is yet to be announced who will be replacing her.
And it seems even Craig doesn’t have any insider information… “They haven’t told me, they won’t because my gob is too big! But they have told me that it is someone that can actually dance.
“It also needs to be someone opinionated. I love Anton, he would be great. Any of the ex-dancers would be fantastic.”
Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in the autumn.
