We couldn't be happier if we received an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Harry Potter New York will finally open later this spring, and the shopping experience promises three floors of magic, so ready those wands (or pick up a new one while you're there).
New York City's sprawling 21,000 square-foot Harry Potter store will feature 15 themed areas and the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products ever. After being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the highly-anticipated spot will open its doors on June 3, 2021. Naturally, us wizards and muggles are ready to fill up our shopping carts.
"With over 1,000 Wizarding World props on display (including some authentic items which featured in the movies), the incredible theming, along with experiences such as photo opportunities and the fantastic range of products, there will be something special for every fan," Sarah Roots, EVP Warner Bros. Worldwide Tours, and Retail said in a statement.

Shoppers can expect plenty of wizardry goodness in every spot: two immersive multiplayer virtual reality experiences, an interactive wand table, the House of MinaLima gallery and store, photo ops for the Instagram-obsessed wizards, and Enchanted Keys. These bad boys are said to unlock scenes, facts, figures, and videos throughout the shop, so expect a few surprises along the way!
Part store, part magical playground, and part museum, it seems like Harry Potter New York is about much more than purchasing stuffed owls or broomsticks (which, of course, is encouraged).
"The level of artistic detail and quality of the design inspired by the movies means Harry Potter New York will bring a completely new shopping experience to the city," Sarah added.
