This is definitely on our must-watch list...

Gold Digger

Autumn seems like the perfect time to cosy up and watch a new series, and BBC One’s new offering sounds like it’ll be right up our street.

You should expect plenty of drama from Gold Digger as it explores the way people, especially family, react to age gaps in a relationship, and how secrets of the past can impact the future.

If you’re curious to learn about more the new BBC drama, we’ve put together everything you need to know about Gold Digger and when it’s available to watch.

What is Gold Digger about?

The six-part series follows Julia Day (Julia Ormond), a wealthy woman who ends up completely alone on her 60th birthday after splitting from her long-term husband, and all of her children cancelling on her.

Julia's marriage broke down after her husband cheated on her with her best friend, but it seems she's not wallowing.

She soon meets Benjamin (Ben Barnes), a young man in his 30s, and ends up falling for him. At first, the relationship is everything Julia needs - fun, wild, and freeing. But Benjamin’s intentions might not be as they first seem...

According to series writer Marnie Dickens, “Gold Digger is a contemporary relationship thriller about second chances, family and betrayal. It tells the story of Julia Day, a woman turning 60, feeling increasingly adrift from her children and like she’s not sure of her place in the world any more. Then she meets Benjamin. This younger man makes her feel seen for the first time in years. Their romance changes everything.”
