Chrissy Teigen’s lips swell up after allergic reaction to orange

Chrissy Teigen had a not-so-sweet reaction to a fruit snack last night - and now she’s looking for answers. 

The celebrity entrepreneur took to Instagram to reveal a pair of extremely swollen lips, which she claims to be the result of biting into an unpeeled orange. 

“Not filler fail - I’d tell you! I don’t give a shit!” Chrissy captioned the photo, in an effort to quickly dispel rumors of a botched collagen job. “It happened after I bit the skin of a suspicious orange.” 

The close-up selfie, which has now been liked over half a million times, showcases the former swimwear model’s signature plump lips looking a little riper than usual.

Still unsure of the exact culprit, Chrissy speculated the cause of the allergic reaction with her 34m fans. “Maybe pesticides on the outside?” 

The jarring post was quickly inundated with comments, some of which were quick to provide a diagnosis for Chrissy’s inflated pout. 

“From personal experience, I can tell you it's called orange or mango dermatitis,” replied cookbook author Jessica Seinfeld. 

Dr. Pimple Popper dermatologist, Dr. Sandra Lee, gave a straightforward solution after offering her two cents on the matter. “Allergy of course. Take antihistamine and of course no more eating the suspicious fruit!” 

While many fans showed their concern for Chrissy’s health, others were preoccupied with finding the mysterious fruit that birthed her giant lips. The comment section was flooded with beauty-conscious folks delighted to discover a cheap (albeit unsafe) alternative to lip injections. 

“All of Hollywood gon be lookin for that orange species,” joked Food Network chef Sunny Anderson. 

“Who needs lip fillers when you have this orange?!” another awe-struck follower wrote. 

This isn’t the first time Chrissy’s lips have been struck by disaster. In 2019, the stunning mom’s lower lip ballooned while she was at a friend’s wedding in her home state of Utah. On that occasion, the reaction had been caused by altitude sickness. 

“It’s so big it’s shiny and hard like glass,” Chrissy described the sensation to her Twitter followers. 

We hope Chrissy finds relief from her swollen lips curse someday soon (and that nobody attempts to replicate her puffy look with poisonous fruits or dizzying heights!)
