Sienna Miller stepped out in London last week, wearing an ideal outfit formula for the in-between weather that can make dressing feel so tricky in October. Her look plays into a trend we saw emerge in autumn last year, with her pairing of Bermuda shorts and knee-high boots creating a stylish silhouette.

Her boots of choice are the expensive-looking but surprisingly affordable Dune London Toova leather knee-high boots, which boast a low block heel that lends subtle height to the comfortable, everyday footwear.

To keep up with the cooler weather, Sienna paired her shorts with a knitted, navy jumper. She was also carrying Bottega Veneta’s Cabat bag, which might cost an eye-watering £7,500, but we’ve found a similar woven leather style in Rixo's Dragon Diffusion autumn 2026 drop that emulates the look for less.

Knee-high boots are a must-have at this time of year, as they make pulling together polished but practical autumn outfit ideas a breeze. There are a variety of styles available online, but a minimalist pair like Sienna's are a particularly versatile option that will go with pretty much everything. Tuck your skinny jeans into your boots, or slip them on for some extra coverage under midi skirts.

While the idea of shorts and bare legs might not be the most appealing in colder months, Bermuda shorts and boots have become a standout trend for autumn. The main draw is the fashion-forward edge that the look has, with the playful proportion of structured, knee-grazing Bermuda shorts against sleek, calf-hugging boots creating a balanced silhouette.

To keep the style feeling practical for the season, recreating Sienna’s outfit with a chunky knit similar to her jumper is a good idea, and you can also throw on one of the best trench coats or best autumn jackets on top as an extra layer. Sheer black tights will also make a handy addition when the weather is really cool.
