Available in sizes double to super king, the Eve Premium Foam Mattress is wonderfully versatile. You can also select a remove and recycle option to make clearing up your old mattress even easier.
There was a time when the idea of a mattress arriving neatly boxed at your door felt wildly futuristic, and Eve Sleep was one of the brands that made that concept feel not just possible, but desirable. Known for its clever design, science-led comfort and easy-at-home setup, Eve has become one of the biggest names in the mattress world and for good reason. After years of testing the major mattress players, it felt only right to put one of Eve’s most talked-about models under the spotlight.
Eve Sleep has built its reputation on constant innovation, refining and reworking its designs to compete with what many consider the best mattress options on the market. To see whether the hype holds up, we sent the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress to our expert tester, Samantha, for a thorough, real-world trial. With a medium-firm feel designed to suit back and side sleepers, it also promised targeted support for spinal alignment, something Samantha looks for closely, thanks to ongoing back pain.
What really set this mattress apart, though, was its focus on temperature regulation. The upper layers are designed to disperse excess body heat, making it a strong contender for anyone who runs warm at night or struggles with night sweats and potentially one of the best cooling mattress options we’ve tested. Paired with a soft, cushioned, machine-washable cover, the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress sounded impressive on paper. Samantha has now slept on it night after night, and here’s how it truly performed.

How we tested the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress
This mattress was put to the test by Samantha Priestly, a member of our tester network. Here's a little more about her.

Samantha is a familiar face for testing various items that help you towards better sleep. She's already covered duvets for us, as well as other elements of health and wellbeing. She's dedicated to investigating the menopause, sleep, and healthy eating from her home in Yorkshire, so was eager to see whether she could tackle hot sleeping in one. We chose this mattress for Samantha because she struggles with back pain on softer mattresses, so we thought this would strike the perfect balance of cooling comfort and convenience as well as support.
What's inside the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress?
It's always helpful to know what's going on inside your mattress, especially when it's making claims about being cooling, supportive, and comfortable too.
The 28cm thick mattress is packed with four layers of luxury foam. Traditionally, these mattresses respond to the pressure that your body creates when you lie on the mattress and memory foam also responds to heat. In this instance, you have a combination of a range of different foams, including clever, contouring memory foam and Eve Sleep's patented floatfoam that's designed to feel soft and soothing under you.
Eve Sleep has cleverly arranged these layers to prevent sagging. The base layer is firm foam, which gives the bed more structure and the higher firmness rating that Samantha describes. Then, there's the memory foam layer which is infused with graphite to help transfer heat away from your body when you're sleeping. Then, you have the Floatfoam, which is topped with the "waterfall cover" that is woven with strands of silver to make it antibacterial and antimicrobial.

Inside, Eve Sleep also uses 1000 full height springs that are designed to have a softer and firmer side. Each is packed into individual pockets, which should offer your minimal motion transfer (great if you share a bed) and your bed is easier to customise in terms of firmness thanks to the double-sided springs.
On a practical level, the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress comes with an anti-slip base that keeps your mattress in place. And the outer later comes with side handles that make it easy to move the mattress around too.
Who would the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress suit?
Aside from the obvious answer: our tester, Samantha. Who is the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress actually best suited to?
Two key factors really determine who will get on best with this mattress: its all-foam construction and its medium-firm feel. Foam mattresses are particularly good if you’re looking for contouring support and a softer feel around pressure points. That can be a real benefit if you experience joint pain, stiffness, or if you tend to sleep on your side and need cushioning around the hips and shoulders.
One of the common downsides of foam is that it can feel warmer, as it naturally moulds to your body. However, Eve has worked to counter this by weaving heat-diffusing materials through the upper layers. In practice, Samantha found this made a noticeable difference, helping the mattress feel more breathable than traditional foam designs.
Samantha describes the Premium as a clear “step up in luxury” from the Eve Sleep Original Mattress. It adds four extra comfort layers, creating what she calls a “sturdy yet soft” feel: supportive enough to keep her spine aligned, but plush enough to feel indulgent at bedtime. That balance is especially important if you want a mattress that feels comforting without sacrificing structure.
The quilted top layer is particularly well suited to anyone who struggles with night sweats but still wants a cosy sleep surface. Eve’s waterfall-style cover is antibacterial, antimicrobial and machine washable, and Samantha says it “feels like a cosy nighttime hug,” gently following the contours of her body. Paired with the mattress’s generous 28cm depth, it adds to the sense of being properly supported and cocooned.
Although this is classed as a medium-firm mattress, generally best for back and side sleepers, Samantha notes that it does lean towards the firmer end of that scale. “It is quite firm,” she says, “but still deeply cushioned and great for your spine.” For sleepers who prefer a true medium or slightly firmer feel, that structure is likely to be a real selling point.
Delivery and unboxing Eve Sleep Premium Mattress
One of Eve Sleep’s biggest selling points is its generous guarantee and flexibility. You get a 10-year warranty, which feels reassuring without being excessive, and a 200-night trial, so there’s no pressure to choose a mattress online and simply hope for the best. Samantha found this particularly comforting, noting that “you can really get to know your mattress to decide whether it’s right for you.” Compared with other brands, this is a genuinely strong offering: generous enough to feel valuable, but not so over-the-top that it raises questions.
I also did a sense check beyond our own testing, and long-term reviews consistently suggest that Eve mattresses hold up well over time. Customers frequently mention how straightforward the brand is when it comes to honouring its guarantees and trial periods, which adds an extra layer of trust if you’re making a big purchase.
True to Eve Sleep’s reputation, the mattress arrives bed-in-a-box style. Samantha described it as “much smaller than I expected,” thanks to it being folded, rolled and tightly compressed. Getting it out of the packaging does require a bit of effort: it’s wrapped in several layers of plastic, so having scissors to hand (and a bit of muscle) is helpful. “Be prepared to cut through and unroll each layer,” she advises.
Once unrolled, the mattress needs time to expand. Eve recommends allowing four to six hours for it to fully puff up, and ideally waiting up to 72 hours before sleeping on it. That said, excitement got the better of Samantha, and she slept on it after just six hours. Even then, it felt comfortable and supportive a promising start straight out of the box.
What's the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress like to sleep on?
The Eve Sleep Premium Mattress was an immediate hit with Samantha, but, as with all mattress reviews, it’s important to remember that comfort is deeply personal. What feels blissfully supportive to one sleeper might feel too firm or too soft to another, so it helps to understand Samantha’s sleep needs before diving into her verdict.
Samantha specifically wanted a medium-firm mattress. She sleeps on her side and experiences ongoing back pain, so support and spinal alignment were non-negotiable. After several months of testing, she describes the Eve Sleep Premium as sitting on the firmer side of medium-firm. “This is perfect for me,” she explains, “because the plush top layer is so soft and comfortable that I get the best of both worlds.” She also notes that there’s very little sink-in, so this isn’t the right choice if you prefer a deeply soft, enveloping mattress, but for back and side sleepers, the balance feels spot on.
If you share your bed with a restless sleeper, or you’re the one who tosses and turns, this mattress really comes into its own. Samantha describes it as a “godsend” for motion isolation. No matter how much movement there is on one side of the bed, the other side remains undisturbed, which makes a noticeable difference to sleep quality.
Samantha also praised the mattress’s stability and temperature regulation. “I’ve had a great night’s sleep every night since getting this mattress,” she says. “It never moves at all.” The anti-slip base keeps it firmly in place, and motion transfer is virtually non-existent, even with a partner who moves around frequently. She was particularly keen to test the cooling credentials, given her struggles with night sweats, and after around five weeks of use, she noticed a clear improvement in temperature control overnight.
Is the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress good value?
This is the premium version of the original Eve Sleep mattress, so as you’d expect it’s a bit more expensive. At £1049 for the super king, yes, it’s pricey, but considering all the features and the impressive level of comfort, it’s a sound investment. You can expect your Eve Sleep Premium Mattress to last out your warranty of ten years. Eve Sleep recommends you change your mattress every eight years, but it will be good for a little longer if you want to keep it. If you want a similar level of comfort and it’s your first Eve Sleep mattress you could go for the slightly cheaper Original Mattress at £849 for the super king.
Should you buy the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress?
If you don’t mind paying that bit extra, and bearing in mind Eve Sleep’s hybrid mattresses with a combination of memory foam and springs, are more expensive than this one, you should definitely buy this mattress. It’s extremely comfortable to sleep on, it’s cooling, it’s easy to keep clean, and my favourite feature - it doesn’t move at all no matter how much you toss and turn.
How we test
We test mattresses the same way our readers use them: at home, over an extended period of time. Each mattress is slept on for several months, not just a few nights, so our testers can give honest, real-life feedback on comfort, support, temperature regulation and how it holds up night after night. For this review, the Eve Sleep Premium Mattress was tested by Samantha, an experienced reviewer whose sleep needs closely reflect those of our readers. Living with the mattress long-term allows us to assess everything from back support and motion transfer to how cool it feels through different seasons, because the best mattress isn’t the one that impresses on day one, but the one you still love months down the line.
