I usually shop high-street denim, but I'm hooked on With Nothing Underneath's new premium-looking jeans
Here's why they are worth the investment
When it comes to jeans, I tend to stick to affordable high street favourites, or seek out vintage gems that won't break the bank. However, With Nothing Underneath, a brand with a reputation for luxurious shirts, has launched its first denim collection, and after trying them, I can safely say I've been won over by their premium designs.
The British clothing brand was founded in 2017 with a mission to deliver exceptionally made shirts; since then, they've expanded their collection to include knitwear, tailoring, and even outerwear. Now they are dipping into denim, with a collection of three standout designs made with the same attention to quality and style as their other everyday essentials.
After trying the three styles myself – the Crawford, Fawcett and Stevie – I fully understand the appeal of spending a little more on denim. From the way the jeans sit to the weighty feel of premium denim, they have to be some of the best jeans I've worn. At £150 a pair, they're an investment piece, but with longevity and versatility in mind, and you'll be wearing them for years to come.
Crawford Jeans
Style note: I'm 5"5 and wearing a size 30
The Crawford has a straight-leg silhouette that gives you an instantly put-together feel. They are made from a rigid, non-stretch denim, and the high-rise waist cinches you in. Size up in this particular style, as the high-waist and rigid fabric can make them feel quite snug.
They also come in a mid-wash blue for a darker finish. The slightly faded shade makes them feel like a well-aged vintage pair, whilst the straight silhouette makes them a smart choice. Here I've styled them with a long-sleeve blouse. Try pairing them with an oversized shirt and loafers for the ultimate smart-casual outfit.
Stevie Jeans

The Stevie is my personal favourite from the collection. Made with a subtle hint of stretch, they feel instantly comfortable without losing that structured, premium feel. I particularly love the subtly cropped, flared shape – perfect for styling with wedges or heeled boots.
I've always loved a good pair of white jeans, and the Stevie in this fresh white wash has quickly become one of my favourite designs. They're also incredibly easy to style, and I'm a strong advocate for wearing your white jeans outfits into the colder months. Pair them with knitwear, T-shirts, and your best trench coats.
Fawcett
Style note: I'm 5"5 and wearing a size 30
The Fawcett is the wide-leg style in the collection, but what I love about their relaxed fit is that you can play around with the shape depending on how you want to wear them. With a rolled-up hem, they have a looser feel that's not overly wide.
The off-white pair is so stylish, and they work so well with my chocolate brown cotton-linen jumper from TOAST. I must say the Fawcett style comes up a little long, so I'd either roll up the hem or wear them with shoes that offer extra height. They have a relaxed fit without feeling overly wide; whilst worn full-length, they create a much more dramatic wide-leg silhouette.
All three styles hit the mark in terms of versatility, style and quality. I can confidently confirm they feel very premium thanks to their design. They feature sturdy yet soft denim, classic zip flies, practical back and front pockets, plus flattering high-waisted cuts.
In terms of sizing, they don't have the widest range - they come in sizes 24 to 36, and I'd recommend sizing up if you prefer a little room, especially in the Crawford and Fawcett, which are made from non-stretch denim. One detail I did appreciate is that the collection includes in-between sizes, making it easier to find a closer fit (eg 26 = 8, 27 = 8-10, 28 = 10).
They are made to be worn for years to come, something worth considering when updating your denim collection. Plus, they are super versatile, so can be styled in a range of ways.
All three are smart enough to be worn as part of a jeans-and-blazer outfit, but especially the Crawford, with its straight-leg design. The Fawcett jeans look effortless with simple knits and comfortable trainers, yet the Stevie jeans are the pair I'm most excited to dress up. The flared silhouette goes seamlessly with boho blouses and heeled wedges.
