Elizabeth Hurley's go-to perfume is an 'exquisite' floral that will transport you back to sunny spring days
Blooming with notes of orange blossom and lilac, Liz Hurley's signature scent is breezy and perfectly elegant for everyday.
Like a garden in bloom, Elizabeth Hurley's favourite perfume is brimming with delicate florals, and she loves it so much that you'll find bottles of it scattered all over her house.
When you find a long-lasting perfume or specific note that you love, it's only natural that you'd want to surround yourself with it. Of course, many of the best perfumes for women do come in candle and body lotion form, so you can spread their aromas throughout your routine and home. Personally, though, we prefer Hurley's method of keeping actual, physical bottles of her signature scent tactically stashed around her. After all, you never know when you might need to top up and when it comes to the actress' floral fragrance of choice, we can understand the desire to always have it within reach.
In an interview with woman&home, discussing everything from the Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Campaign to her beauty essentials, the actress gave Digital Beauty Writer Sennen Prickett an insight into both her former and current go-to. The latter being a luxe blend from Aerin, which also happens to be the brand behind Reese Witherspoon's favourite fragrances.
RRP: £72 for 50ml | Notes: White lily, violet leaves, black Lilac, white peony, Karo-Karounde blossoms, baie rose, pink rose, jasmine, sandalwood and patchouli
There's indeed a bit of a theme between Hurley's fragrances, as not only do they both feature lilac, but they also take inspiration from spring itself. This scent was actually launched by the actress in the '90s and is currently on sale for just £35 over at Boots.
RRP: £108 for 50ml | Notes: Privet flower, lilac and orange flower
Rich and fresh all at once, Aerin's Lilac Path was inspired by 'a stroll down a country lane where lilacs dance in the spring breeze,' and thus seeks to capture the softness and airiness of the flower's scent carried through the air. Hurley herself describes it as very 'pretty,' so if you in the market for a scent that is both elegant and celebrity-approved, this is one to invest in.
"I launched Pleasures for Estée Lauder in 1995 and wore that for years and years. I still have it, and my mother still wears it, but I've actually switched to AERIN's fragrances now. My absolute favourite is called Lilac Path."
Hurley described it as "the most exquisite, pretty, floral scent," before adding, "I have little bottles of it stowed everywhere around my house."
Interestingly, both the fragrances Hurley cited have one flowery note in common: lilac. It's a soft but quite distinctive floral. It's powdery but has a sweet, almost honey-like quality to it, which might be what initially drew Hurley to the scents. If you tend to gravitate toward floral fragrances yourself, lilac-centric blends are a very fresh and timeless option, much like rose and jasmine perfumes.
As mentioned, we love the idea of having mini bottles of our scents stashed around our spaces for quick spritzes, and actually, Aerin does make it quite easy and inexpensive to do so, with mini gift sets available in their best-selling scents. Many brands also offer discovery sets that you could also separate and keep throughout your home and handbags. In fact, Digital Beauty Writer Naomi Jamieson actually does this with some of the best Diptyque perfumes, with each of her bags housing a mini tester.
