Zoe Saldana's go-to perfume is this unique floral-leather blend - and it'll smell even better when Autumn hits
The actor is 'loving' one scent and 'obsessed' with another from one particular brand
It's rare to get an insight into the fragrances A-list stars love, but it's something that crosses my mind often as a beauty writer – what do celebrities actually smell like?
If I had to take an educated guess, my money would be on one of the best perfumes for women, from luxury fragrance houses or cool niche labels, but thankfully a handful of celebrities have put an end to our guessing game by revealing their go-to long-lasting perfumes.
The latest name to join that list is none other than Zoe Saldana. The Lioness actress has lifted the lid on the scent she is "loving" to spritz right now, and another she has been "obsessed with" – and both are rich and long-lasting blends that'll transition perfectly from summer into Autumn.
RRP: £190 for 50ml, £270 for 100ml | Notes: Geranium, blackcurrant, bourbon geranium, vetiver, cedar and leather accord
Mysterious and romantic, Frédéric Malle's Rose & Cuir offers a modern sensual blend of timut pepper, geranium and bourbon for a spicy freshness. The floral elements are then warmed with decadent notes of vetiver, cedar and leather accord for a scent that lingers throughout the day.
RRP: £160 for 30ml, £205 for 50ml and £295 for 100ml | Notes: Natural tuberose, melon, white musk, coconut
Frédéric Malle's Carnal Flower is truly unique, containing the highest concentration of natural tuberose in the world of fragrance. This perfume is a sophisticated take on a typical floral scent that promises to leave a lasting impression on others. It opens with fresh melon and vegetal notes, before drying down to reveal a creamy, musky base.
In a recent interview with Marie Claire, the actress discussed the ins and outs of her wellness routine, from her go-to Lancôme Absolue Longevity MD Intercept Face Cream to her love for fabric scrunchies.
But it was her answer to being quizzed on the most expensive product in her daily regimen that caught our eye. Saldana revealed herself to be "a really big fan of perfumes", lifting the lid on her go-to fragrance house: "Frederic Malle is one of my favourite brands."
As for the exact blend that she has been frequently spritzing lately, she says: "Right now, I’m loving Rose and Cuir." The perfume in question begins as a light, airy green floral that dries down to a bitter and earthy leather fragrance. In fact, many hail the blend for its unique aroma.
But it doesn't stop there; her love for the brand's scents runs deep. Saldana notes: "I used to be obsessed with Carnal Flower too." Carnal Flower is an intense white-floral scent that features the highest concentration of natural tuberose in the world of fragrance. It's complemented with notes of juicy melon, sharp eucalyptus and a milky, musky base.
