We quizzed Emma Willis' makeup artist on the exact buy behind her berry lipstick on Strictly Come Dancing
The presenter's makeup artist lifted the lid on the lippie that everyone's talking about
With the weather finally taking more of a bitter turn, it seems many of us have officially declared autumn, and what's more autumnal than wearing a red lip?
If you tuned into Saturday night's episode of Strictly Come Dancing, it would seem that Emma Willis agrees. In fact, it was her deep wine-hued, long-lasting lipstick of choice that got everyone talking, including our very own woman&home team.
So, naturally, we've done our due diligence by tracking down her makeup artist to ask exactly what lipstick the presenter was adorning on her pout. Luckily, we've been given the answer to the question on everyone's lips, and we're here to share it with the world – not to mention, add it to our basket before it sells out.
Boasting a creamy matte texture, thanks to the oil-infused powders in the formula, this lipstick delivers vivid colour and blurred coverage in just one swipe. Its weightless feel also allows for comfortable wear all day long. As for Emma's exact shade, 'Full Blooded' is a gorgeous deep wine hue that allows for a high-impact look.
After we were left in awe of the presenter's bold lip (alongside the other hundreds of commenters on Instagram), we dropped a message to Willis' makeup artist, Amanda Bowen. Fortunately for us, Bowen let us in on the exact lippie and shade used to create the look – Pat McGrath Labs' Mattetrance™ Lipstick in shade 'Full Blooded'.
The opulent burgundy-esque hue is a richer, moodier take on a classic red lip. Its purple berry undertone feels perfectly apt for the cooler autumnal months as we slowly pedal towards the festive season.
As is the case when wearing any brighter or bolder lip colour, it's worth applying one of the best lip liners first. Not only does this help define and sculpt the pout for a fuller, plumper appearance, but it also works to prevent any feathering, bleeding outside the lines, or fading.

For a more affordable alternative, look no further than e.l.f's O Face Satin Lipstick in shade 'Shameless' – a rich plum shade that has a subtle pink undertone. As for the lipstick itself, it offers a creamy, comfortable formula with a beautiful satin finish that stands the test of time.
There's a reason that MAC's Macximal Silky Matte Lipstick in shade 'Diva' is a cult classic. The brand's signature lipstick now arrives with a creamy satin-matte finish that makes for comfortable wear, while still delivering 12 hours of full-coverage colour. The shade in question is a vampy dark cherry hue with warm undertones.
If you're new to wearing bolder shades, why not opt for REFY's Lip Blush in shade 'Wine'? This hydrating tinted lip balm not only delivers a sheer wash of colour, but it also works to nourish the lips and blur the appearance of fine lines for a soft, barely-there finish.
