There was a time when hitting the Christmas sales meant setting an early alarm on boxing day, sharpening your elbows and joining the most patience-testing shopping queues of the year.
Mercifully these days there’s no need to leave the house to take advantage of bargain deals, in fact we don’t even need to wait until Christmas. Many big retailers have already kicked off their winter sales, with some very enticing deals on beauty in particular.
Whether you’re looking for a last minute gift or fancy treating yourself, I’ve rounded up my favourite sale bargains across makeup, skincare and fragrance ready to be snapped up by savvy shoppers well before the crowds descend on the 26th.
Sunday Riley Pro Vitamins Vol.2 Set, £65, now £45.50
The luxurious designer emporium is offering up to 60% off across fashion and beauty, and this is my pick of the bunch. Sunday Riley skincare is revered by those in the know, myself included, for it’s high-tech results driven formulations. This set includes a serum, face oil, eye cream and moisturiser, all packed with actives that work on hydration and radiance – things we could all use midway through silly season.
House of Fraser
Gucci Memoire D’une Odeur 100ml Gift Set, was £92 now £74
Its unusual to see anything by Gucci on discount, whether that’s a belt or a boxed set of their latest blockbuster scent, so this is a rare treat.
The set contains 100ml Eau de Parfum plus an adorable mini bottle that’s perfect for travel. The fragrance is a corker, all cool chamomile, musky woods and a bit of sweet vanilla that’s designed to appeal to all genders, and considering the 100ml fragrance retails at £92 alone, I reckon this is a steal.
Urban Decay Honey Vault Set, was £99 now £59
Selfridges is offering a 20% discount across all Urban Decay beauty at the moment, but this set has even tastier reduction and contains one of the most hyped eye palettes of the year, Naked Honey. There’s also a glowy ‘Honey’ versions of their excellent eye primer and makeup setting spray, plus shimmering body powder and lip gloss. In fact this is everything you could possibly need for party season and beyond.
Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream, was £30 now £15
For obvious reasons it tends to be seasonal products and gift sets that go into the sale, so it’s very pleasing to spot ultra-useful everyday beauty staples with 50% off at Debenhams. This moisturiser by the always trustworthy Elizabeth Arden feels rich and plumping but contains a retinol derivative which works hard on tone, lines and texture too. If you prefer a lighter formula, there’s also the very lovely Visible Difference Hydragel Cream at £15.
Zoe Ayla 7 Piece Makeup Brush Set, was £45 now £20
There’s something so lovely about treating yourself to new makeup brushes, it feels like a fresh start and usually comes along with good intentions to wash the darn things more often than your last set.
As well as being less than half price, these really look the part with their fun gold handles, cruelty-free synthetic hairs and feel nicely weighty in the hand so are easy to control.
