Meghan Markle has spoken out about an incident over flower girl and bridesmaid dresses that was reported during the time of the royal wedding back in 2018.
The Sussexes tied the knot back in May of 2018, with Meghan Markle's wedding dress capturing the world's imagination. It was around that time it was reported that an incident took place between the duchess and her then future sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge where the bride had brought the latter to tears.
However, in a candid interview Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did with broadcasting icon Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex set the record straight over what really happened when it came to the flower girl dresses.

Meghan revealed that it was in fact Kate Middleton who had made her cry over the bridesmaid dresses incident, rather than the other way around like it had been made to seem.
"Did you make Kate cry?" Oprah asked Meghan, to which the Duchess replied after taking a pause, "No, no, the reserve happened. And I don't say that to be disparaging to anyone."
Explaining the flower girl dresses situation, Meghan told Oprah, "A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something pertaining to flower girl dresses. And it made me cry.
"It really hurt my feelings, and I thought in the context of everything else that was going on in those days leading to the wedding, it didn't make sense to not be just doing whatever everyone else is doing, which was trying to be supportive knowing what was going on with my dad and whatnot."
However, the Duchess of Sussex went on to reveal that Duchess Catherine did go on to apologise to her for the incident that had taken place over the flower girl dresses.
"It was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something,” she said. “But she owned it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing. She did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, to just take accountability for it."
Meghan did go on to address how she never wanted the story to come out, as it had been resolved between the two parties, but how she ended up being hurt when the blame was reversed in the story that was leaked.
"I would have never wanted that to come out about her ever, even though it had happened," said Meghan. "I protected that from ever being out in the world."
"I don't think it's fair to her to get into the details of that, because she apologized. And I've forgiven her,” Meghan added after Oprah pressed for more details. “What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn't do, but that happened to me. And the people who were part of our wedding going to our comms team and saying, 'I know this didn't happen.'"
"Everyone in the institution knew it wasn't true," Meghan added to Oprah, who then asked the question, "So why didn't somebody just say that?" Meghan replied, "That's a good question."
"I think it's really important for people to understand the truth," added Meghan. "But also I think a lot of it that was fed into by the media - and, look, I would hope that she would have wanted that corrected, and maybe in the same way that the palace wouldn't let anybody else negate it, they wouldn't let her. Because she's a good person. I think so much of what I have seen play out is this idea of polarity, where if you love me, you don't have to hate her. If you love her, you don't need to hate me."
