Kate Middleton takes inspiration from Meghan Markle's all-white suit at Windrush event

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a very similar outfit to the one worn by Meghan at the Invictus Games reception in the Netherlands earlier this year

Kate Middleton gave fans flashbacks of Meghan Markle's visit to the Netherlands on Wednesday, after stepping out in an all-white suit that looked almost identical to the one worn by the Duchess of Sussex at the Invictus Games in April.

Kate Middleton's stunning outfit at the reveal of a historic monument in London today looked notably similar to Meghan Markle's all-white suit from the Invictus Games in April – bar a few minor differences, of course.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Waterloo station on Wednesday morning for the unveiling of a statue in honor of Windrush Day (June 22), which was established in 2018 to pay tribute to the thousands of people who emigrated from Caribbean countries to the UK between 1948 and 1971.

The 12ft tall sculpture, designed by Jamaican artist Basil Watson, features a man, woman, and a child standing on suitcases, and was funded by a £1 million grant from the British government.

The royal couple's attendance at the event comes just a few months after their controversial Caribbean royal tour, which was protested by campaigners who said that Prince William and Kate Middleton are 'not welcome' in Jamaica in light of the Royal Family's history of colonization.

Always one to impress in the style department, Kate wore a fitted, crisp white blazer to the poignant event, complete with matching white trousers and a plain white shirt.

She paired the outfit with dangling geometric earrings by London jewelry brand, Chalk, a white handbag, and a pair of simple ivory heels. If Kate's white suit strikes you as familiar, that's because the ensemble, which features a jacket by Alexander McQueen, had previously been worn with a vibrant orange top during her royal trip to Jamaica in March.

It also shared many of the details of the all-white suit donned by Meghan Markle at the reception of the Invictus Games in April. The Duchess of Sussex wore the pristine Valentino trousers and blazer set for her first day in the Netherlands, teaming the look with skyscraper white heels by Aquazuura and a golden 'Love pendant' necklace by Sophie Lis.

Unlike Kate, however, Meghan went for a looser fit on the officewear staple – giving her finished look a slightly more casual and retro vibe.

The Cambridges were joined by Baroness Floella Benjamin, as well as Windrush passengers Alford Gardner and John Richards, as they posed for photos next to the breathtaking statue. A musical performance of the Windrush Anthem by Nadine Benjamin OBE, a poetry recital, and a prayer reading followed, as well as a short speech by Prince William.

"Without you, all Britain would simply not be what it is today," he said. "I want to say a profound thank you to every member of that generation and the generations that have followed." The Duke also acknowledged the discrimination that continues to be faced by Black people in Britain, as well as the Windrush scandal, which saw the wrongful detention and deportations of hundreds of Commonwealth citizens following the UK government’s ‘Hostile Environment’ legislation in 2012.
