She may be royalty, but is Kate Middleton homeschooling with the rest of the country while schools are closed?

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are parents to Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two.

The Duchess has been very open in the past about the struggles of parenthood and has even admitted suffering with mum guilt.

Is Kate Middleton homeschooling?

The Duchess of Cambridge is homeschooling Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Anmer Hall, their country home in Norfolk.

The family have stayed in Norfolk for the majority of the pandemic, and chose to stay there after Prince George and Princess Charlotte's school closed for the country's third lockdown.

Kate recently took part in a discussion with three parents whose children attend Roe Green Junior School in Kingsbury, north-west London, alongside headteacher Melissa Loosemore.

During the video call, the headteacher asked the participants to write down ‘one word that describes parenting during this pandemic’. 

In answer to his, proving she's just like the rest of us, the Duchess held up the word ‘exhausting.'

What has Kate Middleton said about homeschooling?

Speaking about the struggles of lockdown, Duchess Kate said: "I think as parents you’ve the day-to-day elements of being a parent, but I suppose during lockdown we have had to take on additional roles that perhaps others in our communities, or in our lives, would have perhaps supported us and helped us with."

As well as being a teacher, the future Queen even revealed that she's cut her children's hair, much to their dismay.

"I’ve become a hairdresser this lockdown, much to my children’s horror, seeing mum cutting hair," she said.

"We’ve had to become a teacher – and I think, personally, I feel pulled in so many different directions and you try your best with everything, but at the end of the day I do feel exhausted."

However, she also revealed that husband William has been her 'biggest support' during the pandemic.

What else has Kate Middleton said about the pandemic?

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have both supported key workers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

During their royal train tour in December, Kate wrote a heartfelt note to transport workers.

She said: "Thank you to all transport workers everywhere for keeping the country moving throughout this difficult year."

Duchess Kate has also thanked nurses for their hard work over the past year, saying: "You hear time and time again about the amazing things nurses up and down the country are doing, going that extra mile.

"And it's the things that, you know, it's not part of the training and the things that you're taught but the things that come from your heart.

"And I think that's what matters so much now, these acts of kindness to the patients you're looking after, that are in your care, that family members aren't able to be there, but you are going that extra mile and being there."

And thanking key workers at the 2020 Pride of Britain awards, Kate said: "Through our conversations with frontline workers during the pandemic, we have been inspired by their stories of bravery and selflessness.

"Many have had to leave their families for weeks on end, some have come out of retirement to help, while others have stepped into new roles to play their part in the fight against coronavirus."

She added: "And it is not just the medical teams - all NHS staff have played a crucial role through this time.

"During lockdown, we joined people up and down the country to applaud the NHS and our key workers each week. Their hard work still goes on and we remain indebted to them for all they do."
