Strictly Come Dancing have confirmed TWO more contestants

We’ve had lots of exciting Strictly news recently, and now the twelfth contestant for the popular dance-off has been revealed.

34-year-old Alex Scott MBE will be taking to the dance floor, which might be unfamiliar territory since she spends most of her time on the football pitch.

The sports pundit, presenter and former professional footballer confirmed the news on Tuesday, saying: “I am absolutely buzzing to be signed up to Strictly. It's the show I've always wanted to do and I can't believe I'm finally going to be part of it.

“I’m super excited, but also terrified at the same time... The football pitch is a bit less glam than the ballroom, but I’m ready to try the sequins and dresses! Bring it on!"

The official Twitter account for Strictly Come Dancing also shared the news, writing: “Get ready to roar for Lioness and @BBCMOTD presenter @AlexScott! It's time for her to tackle #Strictly ⚽️”

This news follows the announcement of other Strictly 2019 contestants and the brand new judge Motsi Mabuse, who will be joining Craig, Bruno and Shirley on the panel.

Alex and Jamie will be competing against a fantastic range of talent, including RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, comedian Chris Ramsey, social media star Saffron Barker and even Viscountess Emma Weymouth. It's difficult to know who we'll be rooting for this year....
