Peter Dinklage has won a debate against Disney as they announce that they will be rebooting the classic animated movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Peter Dinklage recently appeared on Marc Maron's WTF podcast where he discussed Disney's recent announcement that they will be making a new adaptation of the 1937 animated picture, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The studio has recently announced that Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler have taken lead roles in this new Disney adaptation. But Peter Dinklage reminded Disney that the original film perpetrated harmful stereotypes that can be extremely damaging for people with dwarfism.

The Game of Thrones and I Care A Lot actor said, "Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White—but you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
"Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way, but then you’re still making that f**king backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together?"
"What the f**k are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough."
The actor added that his statements were not intended to cause any offense to the up-and-coming star Rachel Zegler who just stars in the newly released movie, West Side Story.
"They were so proud of that, and all love and respect to the actress and the people who thought they were doing the right thing but I’m just like, ‘What are you doing?’," said Peter.
Peter Dinklage's concerns did not fall upon deaf ears. A spokesperson from Disney announced that the studio would be consulting specialists to ensure that their adaptation would not be offensive, nor would it enforce dangerous stereotypes.
The spokesperson for Disney said, "To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community."
"We look forward to sharing more as the film heads into production after a lengthy development period,"
The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs remake won't be hitting screens and Disney + for a while yet, so fans can probably expect this new movie in 2023.
