No matter how old we get, Disney will always hold a special place in most of our hearts.
Whether we grew up watching Disney classics like Bambi, Snow White and Lady and the Tramp, binge-watched heyday hits like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Lion King with our kids or get dragged along to the cinema with the little ones to see likes of Frozen, Moana and Tangled, Disney has likely played a part in most of our most-treasured memories.
And with its recent stream of high-quality live-action movies like Maleficent, The Jungle Book, Aladdin, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, Disney has even got a new audience of grown-ups interested in the classic fairy tales.
Well now you’ll be able to watch all of your Disney favourites in one single place – right from the comfort of your home.
The entertainment giants have now branched out into streaming with their new pay monthly service.
Here’s everything we know about the new Disney+ streaming service…
What is Disney+?
Disney+ is a brand new streaming service that is being launched by The Walt Disney company.
It is likely to feature new and old Disney films and TV shows as well as watches from its subsidiaries, including, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
Viewers can also expect to see exclusive content like Star Wars and Marvel spin-off TV shows, remakes of classic movies and new Disney TV shows.
Box office hits like Avatar and Titanic will also be available as well as popular TV shows like Homeland, Modern Family and 24.
Like streaming giant Netflix, users will be able to create multiple profiles under one subscription and will be able to watch on four different screens at once.
When will Disney+ launch in the UK?
Disney+ is set to launch in the UK in just a few weeks’ time!
The service will be available for UK users from 24th March 2020.
Fans in France, Germany, Italy and Spain will have the service available from the same date, while it launched in the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand back in November.
How can I watch Disney+?
Viewers will be able to use the Disney+ app on a range of devices, including:
- iOS devices and Apple TV
- Android phones and TVs
- Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices
- Smart TVs and Roku sticks
- Games consoles, like PS4 and Xbox One
How much will Disney+ cost?
Disney confirmed that the subscription service will cost £5.99 per month, or users can pay the whole year upfront for only £59.99.
Users who sign up from the launch date can also enjoy a seven-day free trial period.
However, fans who sign up before the launch can save nearly 20 per cent on an annual subscription.
