Chrissy Teigen and her mother Vilailuck "Pepper" Teigen are the dream mother-daughter duo we needed. Most recently, Pepper talked with WSJ Magazine to talk about life, family, and the upcoming release of her Pepper Thai Cookbook, which she dedicated to her late grandson Jack.

"We talk about him every day," she told the magazine. "Luna [her grandaughter] talks about him every day, and that's how we grieve. We're getting better each day. ... We're getting so much better, and Chrissy too."

It was Chrissy who encouraged her mother to write a cookbook after praising her gourmet meals. Pepper expressed her gratitude towards her daughter, who continues to inspire her.

"[Chrissy] put a lot of trust in me and told me that I was the best cook and that I need to write these recipes down," Pepper said. "And I'm so glad she did. So now I have a book and something that I can pass down to her, Luna, and [grandson Miles Theodore]."

In an Instagram post, Pepper shared her excitement for the cookbook (which comes out April 13) by joking about how her daughter, who also published a cookbook, needs to "move over."

"Move over, @chrissyteigen, there’s a new cookbook in the house!" she captioned the photo. "Can’t believe I’m holding the first copy. 😫😫 I’m so proud of it and can’t wait for you all to see it!!"

Last year, Chrissy and her husband John Legend shared the heartbreaking news that they had lost their third child at 20 weeks pregnant. The couple named their son Jack who was conceived naturally, whereas their other children were conceived through vitro fertilization.

Pepper opened up about the loss over social media a photo of her saying goodbye and the caption, "My heart aches love you so much baby Jack" and the hashtag "สู่สุขตินะลูก," which translates from Thai to English as "to happiness."

Chrissy and John have found ways to continue to honor and remember Jack though. As the couple finishes building their new home, the two have decided to plant a special tree inside their house for their late son.

"It's important for us in Thai tradition that we always embrace the ones we've lost, and they're never, ever gone," Chrissy told PEOPLE for their Beautiful Issue. "This tree being planted inside the home, the whole reason why I wanted it was so Jack's ashes could be in that soil and he could be with us all the time and grow through the beautiful leaves in this tree."
