Shoppers will be able to enjoy a vintage 2012 version of the popular Veuve Monsigny Champagne, with 2012 being one of the four great vintage years for Champagne so far this century. Previously, Aldi’s Veuve Monsigny Champagne has been compared to Lanson Black Label and Laurent-Perrier, both of which cost nearly four times the price, so we’re predicting a sell out of this vintage edition, which will set you back £19.99.
Other standout mentions are the Lyme Bay English Sparkling, a crisp English wine that sits somewhere between Champagne and Prosecco, made at a small winery in Dorset and the aromatic Leon Vatan Sancerre 2019 which comes in at £14.99 and goes extremely well with oily fish dishes.
For reds, we recommend picking up a bottle of Cocodrilo Argentinian Malbec 2019, providing a long intense fruity finish, it contains notes of plum and blackberry and works perfectly well when paired with cheese - a great option for Christmas day.
