Biden dogs leave White House after biting incident

The Biden dogs have reportedly left the White House, following an aggressive incident involving the younger canine. 

The two German Shepherds hit headlines in the New Year after they officially moved into their Washington DC digs, marking the end of Donald Trump’s four-year no-pets reign. However, it looks like the iconic residence will adopt a dog-free status once again after an unfortunate attack occurred on a White House staff member. 

On Monday, CNN reported that Major Biden, who was rescued from a shelter by the family in 2018, bit a security guard on the property. While the details of the attack and the extent of the damage have not been disclosed, both the departure of both Major and Champ Biden from the White House has been confirmed. 

The news is likely a major blow to First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, who revealed last week she was obsessed with getting the dogs settled into their new surroundings.

This isn’t the first time that Major has displayed difficult behavior. The energetic three-year-old has a history of making mischief, regularly barking, jumping, and even ‘charging’ at staff. He notoriously landed President Biden in November in a walking boot after he injured him during some seemingly harmless playtime. 

“I'm walking through this little alleyway to get to the bedroom. And I grabbed the ball ... and he ran," Biden told CNN at the time. "And I'm joking, running after him and grab his tail. And what happened was that he slid on a throw rug. And I tripped on the rug he slid on. That's what happened. Oh man, not a very exciting story."

It remains unclear if the Biden dogs’ return to Delaware is permanent. While Major may have struggled to adjust to the White House, Champ has never displayed any issues with the presidential environment. The 14-year-old dog is no stranger to its grandiose rooms, having visited on multiple occasions during President Biden’s two terms as vice-president.
