Thrifty shoppers are obsessed with Aldi's hanging egg chair from their Gardenline range and, at just £149.99, many have been left annoyed as they struggled to get their hands on the coveted item again.

The chair was released online at 8am, but by 9am it had of course sold out. It's one of the most coveted items in store, along with their super cool pull-out bed with fans queuing in virtual lines for hours in order to get the famous egg chair.

One shopper shared an image on Twitter that showed she was in a virtual queue with hundreds of thousands of people waiting. The shopper quipped that it’s “easier to get a ticket to Glastonbury.”

The egg chair recently launched on the Aldi website and those who had been up for hours still struggled to get their hands on the item.

One shopper tweeted, “embarrassing that I've been up since 6 am trying to get the Aldi egg chair. third time unsuccessful. and for that reason, I'm out.”

Another said, “Got the closest I’ve ever come to the Aldi egg chair dream today... it let me add to basket but when clicking the basket to pay, it crashed,oh illusive egg.”

Another disappointed shopper said that they started to believe that the egg chair was in fact a myth, “Beginning to think the Aldi egg chair is a myth! Been on the site since 6 am, kept refreshing the egg chair page, never gave me an option to add to basket and now it's sold out!”

The item is so popular that Aldi has restricted shoppers to only purchasing one item. The website states, “Orders are restricted to 1 per person for this product and you will not be able to add more than 1 unit to your basket.”
