Hunting down a dress when you're the mother of the bride can be a tricky task.
Trying to ensure you look your best on a day that there will be photographs of forever is no mean feat, and can often be overwhelming.
But panic no more, as John Lewis have just revealed their best-selling mother of the bride dress, and it's going to solve all your wedding attire problems.
The dress that has become most popular with mothers of the bride is this gorgeous, floral spring number by Fenn Wright Manson.
Its stunning pink, yellow and blue design inspired by the picturesque tones and vibrant hues of a coral reef, alongside the the dominant white colour means any mum of a bride will match perfectly with her daughter, all whilst standing separately to the wedding dress, of course!
A John Lewis spokesperson revealed, "Tailored dresses remain popular, with placement florals adding vibrancy to the outfit. Overall, we have seen Pastels as a big trend for SS19 and this is reflected in our offering of Mother of the Bride outfits."
John Lewis' elegant offering is perfect for a summer wedding, with its sleeveless design and tasteful, knee-length cut. But, it would work equally well in the cooler months, if paired with a matching, neutral blazer and chic fascinator.
The retailer advises pairing the dress with some stand-out golden metallic jewellery "to give you that extra touch of sass", but we reckon it would look just as lovely with some simpler pieces too.
However, if you're not heading to a wedding, or even a special event, as a mother of the bride any time soon, never fear, as this dress will work pretty much anywhere.
Whether your planning a trip to Royal Ascot, or are simply attending an upcoming wedding as a guest, this dress is so chic and stylish it'll work at pretty much any formal occasion.
At £199, this John Lewis dress is on the more expensive end of the scale. But we reckon it's best to consider it a worthy investment piece if you're thinking of purchasing, as this won't date in your wardrobe for years to come.
