Like the majority of us have done over the last 12 months, Michelle Obama recently celebrated her birthday during lockdown.

To mark the day she shared a beautiful make-up free selfie with her natural curls, while her husband Barack posted this sweet tribute in honor of the occasion.

It's not known how she spent the big day, but we reckon it was a chilled-out affair with the couple's daughters, Malia and Sasha, and their dogs at home.

The Former First Lady posted the photo to Instagram over the weekend with the caption, "Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes! I know this past year has been difficult for us all on so many levels, so I just hope you are all taking care of yourselves and finding joy in the smallest moments. Love you all."

How does Michelle Obama take care of her curls?

Little is known about Michelle Obama's haircare routine, but we do know Johnny Wright was her go-to stylist for years. She also regularly enlists the help of hairstylist Yene Damtew, including for her Becoming book tour. She once said, "With Yene on my team, I know I'll never need to worry about my hair," according to Allure. High praise indeed!

According to the publication, Damtew was also behind Obama's hair for the night of her famous "When they go low, we go high" speech. "I loved how beautiful her [hair] color looked in that speech," the stylist revealed in an interview. "I think that it matches her skin tone perfectly. It was a complementary accent to both the cut and the style."

Whatever the occasion, there's no denying First Lady Obama's hair always looks fantastic.
