1. Tatcha The Water Cream

RRP: £63

It's easy to get jaded about brand launches when you work in the beauty biz and everything is the "next big thing." But, I'll tell you what we hardened journos genuinely got very excited about in 2022, Tatcha (finally!) coming to the UK.

This San Franciso-founded, Tokyo-formulated skincare manages to cram so much good stuff into unfathomably light textures. Every cream, oil, or ultra-fine exfoliant looks and feels so elegant, but really rolls up its sleeves and goes to work on your skin. A personal favorite is the silky, oil-free Water Cream moisturizer, but honestly, there's not a duff product here.

2. COSMOSS The Sacred Mist Eau de Parfum
RRP: £120
One of the more surprising developments of 2022 was Kate Moss' reinvention as a beauty-wellness brand founder. Oh, and when she revealed on Desert Island Discs that she's a member of her local garden center. Love that for her.
What a relief when we tried Cosmoss and it was actually... very good. If you buy one thing, make it this perfume-aromatherapy hybrid, with luxe essential oils and a generous 100ml bottle to justify the cost. Mist it on your skin, bedsheets, or wherever you'd like the scent of a pretty English flower with hints of mysterious, spicy naughtiness. Just like the great woman herself.  (opens in new tab)

3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Perfector 4-in-1 Glow Makeup

RRP: £12

Forgive the seasonal cliché, but there comes a time after the month of excess (or sometimes during) when you just want to deep-clean the house, scrub the glitter off your poor puffy eyes and eat a very simple soup for dinner – do you know what we mean?

In the spirit of minimalism, simplicity, and just chilling out a bit, we're calling this the product you need to enter 2023. It's a new sheer skin savior that adds a little bit of everything – light coverage, sheen, illuminating pigment – and it has a built-in bingo dabber sponge so you needn't even pick up a brush. 10 seconds bouncing this around that weary visage and you'll feel brand new.

3. Long Woven PJ Set
RRP: £68
Some of the best women's Christmas pyjamas this year aren't actually overtly Christmassy in theme but feel suitably festive anyway.
This organic cotton set is a perfect example. The pattern and colours would be perfect for a Christmas morning present-opening-session, but wouldn't look unseasonal if worn at another time of year either.   (opens in new tab)
