This new video of the Queen chatting to two little girls is the sweetest thing we've seen all week
The Queen headed out for a special royal engagement with Prince Charles by her side—and met some rather cute little ones
The Queen and Prince Charles stepped out together for a special royal engagement in Scotland yesterday, appearing on the grounds of Balmoral Castle to meet local school children.
- The Queen and her eldest son, Prince Charles, spent the day together to mark the start of Her Majesty's new tree planting initiative called The Queen's Green Canopy.
- During the trip out, the monarch met children from a local school who were the first in the UK to take part in her new Junior Forestry Award.
- This royal news comes after it was claimed the Queen is set to be rocked by more scandals with release of 'intimate' new Princess Diana book.
Plenty of photos from the Queen's latest engagement were shared on her official social media accounts, sparking a wonderful reaction from royal fans.
Her Majesty made sure she was wrapped up warm for the outdoor meet-up, opting for a floor-length, khaki rain mac, a pair of black waterproof boots and leaf print scarf tied around her head.
The Queen and Prince Charles even teamed up to get their hands dirty and plant their very own copper beech tree, before posing proudly beside their gardening work.
A caption penned on the Royal Family Instagram page read, "🌳 Today The Queen and The Duke of Rothesay welcomed local schoolchildren onto the Balmoral Estate to mark the start of the @QueensGreenCanopy tree planting season in the UK. "🍂 Her Majesty and His Royal Highness planted a copper beech as part of the Platinum Jubilee initiative."

In the clip, the Queen can be seen flicking through the book handed to her by the two little ones.
"Oh right! Well I shall look at it in the car when I'm on my way down to Edinburgh," she can be heard telling the pupils.
"Thank you very much," she smiled, before taking the book with her.
Royal fans gushed over the touching footage in the comment section, applauding the Queen for her gentle nature.
"She is just the loveliest," one penned.
"Awww❤️ watching this makes my day," added another.
"'Granny' chats are special for children, especially if they are also, super royal," a third agreed.
