Queen to be rocked by more scandals as Princess Diana author announces 'intimate' new book
Tina Brown, the author of The Diana Chronicles, has penned an explosive new book on the Royal Family
The Queen’s inner world is about to go under the microscope in an explosive new book about the Royal Family's attempt to re-establish itself in the wake of Princess Diana's death.
- Details of the Queen's private world are to be made public in a new book by royal expert Tina Brown.
- Brown's explosive biography, The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor—The Truth and the Turmoil, will lift the lid on how the Royal Family recovered its public image following the death of Princess Diana in 1997.
- In other royal news, Kate Middleton and Prince William relive their college days in boozy campus visit.
The Queen is set to face a media storm next spring with the release of yet another bombshell royal biography.
The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor—The Truth and the Turmoil sees royal expert Tina Brown explore the Royal Family’s tumultuous road to recovery behind the gates of Buckingham Palace in the aftermath of Princess Diana’s tragic death.

The beloved Princess of Wales was often credited for permanently shifting the public’s perspective of the Royal Family, by engaging with philanthropic causes and working directly with people in need.
Unlike the majority of her predecessors, she used her title to connect with the outside world—rather than shield her from it.
Unsurprisingly—as detailed in The Crown Season Four—this humanistic style didn’t go down well with Royal Family, who had maintained their power for centuries through remote and elusive governance. Diana’s shocking death in 1997 plunged the so-called ‘Firm’ into a campaign of damage control as it grappled to re-establish its place in a modern—and increasingly republican-focused—United Kingdom.

“The Palace Papers reveals how the royal family reinvented itself after the traumatic years when Diana’s blazing celebrity ripped through the House of Windsor like a comet,” a press release for the book reads.

It will also detail Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s withdrawal from the Royal Family in January 2020, a scandal that continues to shed questions over the future of the British monarchy to this day.
Brown, who based her upcoming book on "years of research and intimate access", has called it “a survival story of a family in which the pre-eminence of duty is in constant tension with the very human desires of love, ambition, and the longing for escape.”
The former Tatler editor rose to international fame in 2007 with the publication of The Diana Chronicles, a highly successful biography on the life of the Princess of Wales. Brown conducted over 250 interviews for the book, talking to a wide circle of Diana's connections—including members of her inner world and her charity work colleagues.
The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor—The Truth and the Turmoil will hit shelves in April 2022.
