Fearne Cotton's kitchen marries timeless style with modern touches - and it's surprisingly easy to recreate
This celebrity space is proof that elevated basics aren't ever going out of style
It's easy to get swept up in kitchen design trends and go all out with bold colours, fancy gadgets and ultra-modern styles. But there's certainly something to be said about keeping things basic yet elevated.
Although we've certainly seen many newcomers in this year's kitchen trends, there's no denying the fact that some style choices will always remain popular both with homeowners and interior experts. The kitchen is an integral part of the home, and often a space where we spend most of our time.
So finding a design that not only works for you but will also stand the test of time is of the utmost importance. And celebrity presenter and author Fearne Cotton has shown exactly how to do that without sacrificing personal style.

Kitchen transformations aren't the cheapest, and with so many kitchen design rules worth breaking, it can be hard to know what's best for your space. And in some cases, opting for more simple, timeless styles is where the success is.
Sharing a hilarious reel on her Instagram @fearnecotton, the broadcaster gives us a glimpse into her open-plan, neutral kitchen. It features decadent marble countertops and classic yet beloved brushed-brass fixtures.
Whilst this isn't experimental or out of the ordinary, it works for a reason. The clean finish on marble not only opens up the kitchen space but gives it a more luxurious feel. Pair this with those timeless gold taps, and it's a design that makes an impact without overwhelming the space.
Fearne has also added personality to her home by using a light dusty pink colour on her kitchen walls that wraps right around to her sink area and across her stove. This is yet again proof that you needn't take a risk on a bold design choice to give your kitchen character and make it feel like your own.

Sticking to this sort of lighter colour palette is a great way to make a small kitchen look bigger with paint. It will draw the eyes up and bring in more of that much-needed natural light, which is quite often lacking in smaller kitchens and homes.
We also spotted that Fearne has mastered the art of keeping her kitchen countertops clear. Aside from the necessities to make a brew and some cleaning tools, the space is free from clutter, which only adds to the polished, sleek finish.
If you're short on space in your kitchen, why not try these storage organising solutions? It'll rid you of any unneeded clutter and grant you some more of that rare counter space.
