Princess Beatrice has joined her grandmother the Queen, as she gets some well deserved rest and relaxation on her annual holiday to Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Pictures released recently reveal that Beatrice and her father Prince Andrew joined the monarch at a service at Crathie Kirk Church, just a short, two-minute drive from the official Scottish residence.
The Queen and her son and granddaughter were driven back to the castle after the service – suggesting Beatrice is spending some quality time with monarch during her summer-long residence at the castle.
It’s thought that the Queen is regularly joined by many members of her family during her annual break to the Scottish castle.
The monarch often spends part of July and the entire month of August there, which is when royal family duties and engagements famously slow down.
Beatrice and her sister Eugenie have, in past, spoken about the time they’ve spent at the castle with their grandmother, revealing that it’s a brilliant place for the whole family to get in some quality time together, in the privacy of the huge estate.
In a recent ITV documentary, Our Queen at Ninety, Princess Eugenie praised the outdoor lifestyle the royals enjoy at Balmoral.
She said, “Walks, picnics, dogs – a lot of dogs, there’s always dogs – and people coming in and out all the time. It’s a lovely base for Granny and Grandpa, for us to come and see them up there; where you just have room to breathe and run,”
Eugenie continued, “It’s the most beautiful place on earth. I think Granny is the most happy there. I think she really, really loves the Highlands.”
It’s likely then that Beatrice won’t be the only member of the family that drops in on the Queen and Prince Philip at Balmoral this summer.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge regularly make a trip to the castle during the summer months, after spending a lot of time there during the early days of their relationship.
It’s also rumoured that the newlywed Duke and Duchess of Sussex will pay a visit to the Queen this August, as they spend some time out of the spotlight. It will likely be Meghan’s first trip to the grand estate house.
We wonder if we’ll see some pictures of the royal couples there later this month?
