Prince William has taken the time to address England's Lionesses ahead of the Euro 2022.

Prince William doesn't offer issue personal statements, but he took to Twitter recently to support a cause close to his heart. Writing about the upcoming Euro 2022, Prince William addressed the women's team, "Good luck to the @Lionesses as the Women’s Euro 2022 kicks off today.

"You’re already doing the nation proud and we’ll be cheering you on throughout the tournament! W"

Signing off with "W" was a particularly personal touch.

He also shared a video from the Lionesses' Twitter account, which has the caption, "This year means more. To you. To us. To all of us. Our family. Our time."

Fans were quick to react with praise, with one writing, "Lovely message Good luck to the Lionesses" and another saying, "Hope to see Princess Charlotte watching a game."

While some commented that they hoped to see Prince William send well wishes to Northern Ireland too. "Indeed, good luck to the @Lionesses… how about a good luck shout out to the other home nation @NorthernIreland taking part?"

With another royal fan replying, "He's head of the English FA. Which is why he's only called out England in this."
