As the Duchess of York celebrates her 59th birthday today (15th October), her former husband, Prince Andrew, has shared a sweet message for her on his social media accounts.
The Duke of York was clearly keen to pay tribute to his ex on her special day, and posted a rare, personal photo of Sarah to share his message.
He wrote, ‘Happy birthday to @SarahTheDuchess. Wishing you a very happy day!’, alongside an image of what appears to be the Duchess posing in the couple’s Windsor home, Royal Lodge.
It’s a rare insight into the close friendship between the divorced Duke and Duchess, who have maintained a good relationship since splitting in 1996.
And the post also provides a rare look into the former couple’s shared home, decorated in lavish blue and green, and luxury cream carpets.
The message didn’t go unnoticed by fans of the Duke and Duchess of York, who took to the post to share their wish that the former couple would reunite, and get back together.
One fan in particular wrote, ‘The love between you two is real, hurry up and get remarried please’, while another said, ‘Just get marry again and make everyone happy’.
Of course, Sarah and Andrew came together again publically for the first time in a long while, at the wedding of their daughter, Princess Eugenie, on Friday.
And one fan couldn’t help but share how ‘moving’ it was to see the former couple back together for the special event.
They commented on the photo, saying, ‘Happy birthday Sarah! It was so moving seeing you both together in Church on Friday. You have been exemplory parents to your girls. I really admire you both for that. Would be lovely to see you back together permanently.’
In fact, it’s thought that the photo of Sarah shared by Andrew was taken over the weekend, during Princess Eugenie’s wedding celebrations – as she has just posted the same picture thanking some designers for the gorgeous blue gown.
But that wasn’t the only stunning dress the Duchess of York wore over her daughter’s wedding weekend.
While Sarah opted for a fitted green outfit by designer Emma Louise for the wedding day, she changed into a more glamorous green number for the evening reception.
The Duchess of York shared a picture of herself in the shimmering silk gown on her Instagram, writing, ‘Thank you so much @emanuelungaroparis for my amazing dress @jadghandourofficial’, alongside the picture.
Fans were floored by the stunning look, flocking to the photo to share how ‘gorgeous’ she looked. One wrote, ‘You look stunning!’, while another agreed, ‘You look absolutely gorgeous!’.
