How the Royal Family snubbed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their anniversary
The family instead made announcements about new and ongoing projects

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just celebrated their third wedding anniversary. As fans congratulated the couple and sent their warm wishes, the Royal Family was noticeably silent.
- The couple spent their anniversary celebrating privately as a family.
- Since the couple left the Royal Family last year, tensions have been rising as Prince Harry and Meghan have vocalized their unhappiness with royal life.
- In other royal news, fans praise Prince William as he receives first dose of Covid-19 vaccine—'Congratulations Your Buffness’.
To mark the occasion, Meghan and Prince Harry shared a special announcement to fans. The couple tied the knot at St George's Chapel in 2018, with Prince Harry proudly wearing his military uniform and Meghan Markle's wedding dress delighting royal fans. In the past, the Royal Family has created tributes on social media to celebrate big occasions within the family, but for the Sussexes' wedding anniversary, the Royal Family had other plans.
If you were to look on the official Royal Family's social media accounts, not one post on May 19 would be about Meghan and Prince Harry's wedding anniversary. Even Prince William and Kate Middleton's social media accounts were quiet when it came to acknowledging their special day.
The royals were definitely active on social media, though, but while the day holds special significance to Prince Harry and Meghan, the family took it as an opportunity to make some major announcements.
To start, Princess Beatrice shared a heartwarming post on social media to announce she's pregnant with her first child. On Twitter, the official Royal Family account made it known with a sweet photo of Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on their wedding day.
"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year," the caption read. "The Queen has been informed, and both families are delighted with the news."

That was only the first of four major announcements the family made that day. This comes as quite a surprise as in the past, the Royal Family tends to spread out their big announcements.

Along with Beatrice's pregnancy, Prince Charles and the Duchess Camilla used the day to update followers on their continued tour of Northern Ireland.

Prince William and Kate Middleton also had a busy day as Kate posted about her surprise visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum—sporting some elegant gold hooped earrings—and the couple also gave a major update to fans announcing their most romantic royal engagement yet.

The last post the official Royal Family account made acknowledging Harry and Meghan's wedding anniversary was back in 2019, which was right before the couple announced they were stepping back from royal duties.
The photo was posted on their official Instagram account and featured a photo of the couple on their wedding day with the caption, "Wishing The Duke and Duchess of Sussex a very happy wedding anniversary."

The tension between the Royal Family and Harry and Meghan has been apparent since the couple decided to exit their roles as royal members of the family. After relocating to the United States, the couple has also been vocal about their unhappiness as royal figures, which was first heard in their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
More information about Harry's mental health struggles growing up has come out too through the trailer for his mental health docu-series with Oprah, The Me You Can't See. He even opened up about his childhood during a podcast with Dax Shepherd, admitting he wants to focus on fatherhood and "break the cycle" of the past.
Meghan and Harry have been honest with their feelings toward the royal lifestyle, but after the Royal Family snubbed their wedding celebrations, we can only imagine how this will continue to impact the growing divide between the two families.
