Wordle 517 shocks players with hardest challenge ever, 'I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard this word before'
Wordle 517 has frustrated a number of wordle players with an unfamiliar word, but what is the definition of today's word challenge?
A certain word has infuriated a number of Wordle players who struggled to solve a particularly uncommon five-letter word on Friday, November 18, 2022.
Wordle players have been totally stumped by yet another tricky five-letter word as the game makers at the New York Times challenged players to solve an unfamiliar word.
While this isn't the first time players have been thrown a curveball - as words such as; leery, coyly, quart, and agape have caused a lot of frustration for fans in the past - this challenge on November 18, posed a particularly hard challenge for fans. The word itself was an unusual format and contained absolutely no vowels and consisted only of consonants.
The answer for the Wordle challenge on November 18 was 'glyph'. This stumped a number of players who took to social media to complain about the difficulty of this challenge.
"Wordle 517 4/6 I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard this word before. I had to look it up," said one player. "Wordle 517 X/6 gave up after four attempts. Wouldn’t have got that if I spent all day on it," said another.
One player complained that their streak was completely ruined,"Wordle 517 X/6 Not a word. Thanks for ruining my streak."

Other players were a little more frustrated. "Fitting that my last tweet will be F**K YOU NYT. Honest to fuck, it's been a hard week. No one needs this right now. I absolutely gave up. Wordle 517 X/6," said one player.

However, some players loved the challenge and complimented the makers of the game for making them work so hard. "#Wordle517 4/6* Yeah that was a cool word to put out there for us!" said one player.
"Wordle 517 4/6 Love these words. They can't hide for long," said another.

Many players struggled with this challenge because they were simply unfamiliar with this term. The word is not particularly common in everyday life, so what does the word glyph mean?
The Cambridge dictionary defines the word glyph as meaning, 'a picture or symbol that represents a word, used in some writing systems, such as the one used in ancient Egypt'.
