Tom Felton has finally admitted that there was a 'spark' between him and Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson.

The actor, 35, who shared a screen with the Beauty and the Beast actress, has divulged all in his new memoir Beyond the Wand.

During a Harry Potter reunion, earlier this year, Emma Watson revealed she had a crush on Tom, as they filmed the popular movies. While Tom writes in his book that he 'always had a secret love for Emma'.

Tom, who is currently starring in Save the Cinema, writes in his book about his relationship with Emma: “For more than 20 years now we’ve loved each other in a special way, and I’ve lost count of the times people have said to me, ‘You must have drunkenly made out, just once!’ ‘You must have kissed! There must be something!’

'But what we have is far deeper than that. It’s one of the purest loves I can think of. We’re soulmates, and we’ve always had each other’s backs. I know we always will.”

However, Tom, who is currently single, went on to say that their timing was always off: “That isn’t to say that there’s never been a spark between us. There most definitely has, only at different times.”

Explaining the bad timing Tom, who appeared in the Harry Potter 20th anniversary reunion writes: “Rumours started to abound that there was more to our relationship than we were letting on, I denied that I liked her in that way, but the truth was different. My girlfriend at the time knew straight away that there was something unspoken between us. I remember using the familiar old line, ‘I love her like a sister’. But there was more to it than that.”

Emma Watson, who is said to be dating Brandon Green, admitted her crush on Tom Felton during the reunion, much to the delight of Harry Potter fans, explaining: "Tom had drawn a girl with a backward cap on a skateboard. And, I just don't know how to say it, I just fell in love with him."

"I used to come in every day and look for his number on the call sheet, it was number seven," she said. "And if his number was on the call sheet, it was an extra exciting day."

Despite the couple having feelings for each other they never got together, however, Tom writes: “But I loved and admired her as a person in a way that I could never explain to anybody else. We were kindred spirits.”
