Strictly Come Dancing kicked off their first live show on Saturday – but the nerves appear to have gotten the best of Ruth Langsford, who found herself at the bottom of the leader board with partner Anton Du Beke.
And as if that wasn’t heart-wrenching enough, Ruth also had to put up with some harsh criticism over her Waltz from notoriously picky judge, Craig Revel Horwood.
Appearing to be unimpressed by Ruth’s moves on the dancefloor, he described their performance as a “stumble and grab”.
But speaking on Loose Women on Monday, Ruth revealed that she had a few harsh words of her own in reply to Craig’s comments.
While she didn’t divulge exactly what she said during their confrontation, she did hint that she told Craig exactly what she thought of his critique.
“Much later on in the bar, I spent far too much time at the bar with my stepdaughter we had a great night, I was with lots of Craig’s friends,” she explained to he co-stars Coleen Nolan, Stacey Solomon and Jane Moore.
“We were having a lovely time and then Craig suddenly came over and went ‘hello darling!’
“I won’t tell you what I said back!”
Despite the heated exchange, Ruth did admit that she agrees with the judges’ comments, adding: “I have to say, everything the judges said was absolutely right. I was clinging onto Anton.”
Earlier on in the show, the This Morning presenter confessed that she had let her nerves get the better of her.
She explained: “I can honestly say I have never been so nervous. Ever. Not when I got married, not doing live television and I’ve done live TV for almost 30 years.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One.
