And today, on the day of her funeral, they have kept to their promise, with This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield broadcasting today’s show from the memorial in Sunderland to give a ‘fitting send off’ to the agony aunt.
Phil and Holly recalled fond memories of Denise on the show, who worked on This Morning from its start in 1988. A show spokesperson said on Facebook: ‘Today we’ll be saying goodbye to a member of our This Morning family as Denise Robertson’s funeral service is held in her home town of Sunderland.
‘We’ll be sharing memories throughout the morning, reflecting on her life, celebrating her work and meeting people whose lives she touched.’
