Ruth Langsford admits she "fell off the wagon" during her diet challenge

This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford has just completed a 30-day Ryvita challenge, to help get more fibre into her diet.

She decided to take on this after news on the Government website stating that an adult should be eating 30g of fibre a day as part of a healthy diet.

Ryvita are well known for their fibre-rich products, such as rye cakes, fruit crunch and crunchy rye breads, available in a range of flavours to suit all tastes. The company had reached out to Ruth, inviting her to take part in this challenge.

Ruth announced she was taking part in the challenge via an Instagram video on April 1st, where she unboxed the kit from Ryvita. The 59-year-old told followers she’d be increasing her fibre intake every day for 30 days.

Part of her Instagram caption revealed the shocking statistic: ‘Did you know 9 out of 10 people aren't consuming enough fibre?’ With such a large number of the population not eating enough of it, Ruth decided to use her platform to educate others.

Unfortunately for Ruth, as the challenge took place over Easter, this is where she faced the most challenges. She told followers: “Easter wasn’t my finest moment, I fell off the wagon a bit there, but you know, I got back on it.”

Overall, it seemed the challenge was beneficial to Ruth, as she went on to say: “I have to say I really think the Ryvita product… having them as a snack and adding them to my breakfast has helped along with upping my vegetable and fruit intake.”

She has since encouraged fans to take part in Ryvita’s 30 in 30 challenge, by saying, “I feel better for it, I really do. I hope you do too, thanks for joining me, see you soon.”
