TV presenter Ruth Langsford gave us a sneak peak into her world yesterday as she shared a video cooking chilli con carne for herself and hubbie Eamonn.

However, she also revealed that her recipe had a surprising addition - lager!

Chilli con carne is traditionally made with beef, garlic, chilli powder and beans - so her fans were a little shocked with her secret ingredient - a recipe which she attributed to wellbeing entrepreneur Sam Balshaw.

The star posted a video on her Instagram stories of the chili and added: "Got a small obsession with chilli con carne since @sam_balshaw gave me her recipe…it's got lager in it!"

The star didn't give more away about the recipe - but we're sure it was tasty. She also later shared a video walking their adorable dog Maggie.

Her recipe revelation comes after her husband Eamonn Holmes shared a picture of the couple's dining room, complete with their Maggie sleeping on one of their chairs. The dining room had a chic monochrome effect with sleek black side cabinets and cream floors.

Eamonn was also busy on his Instagram stories last night attempting to get his followers into the Christmas spirit: "Well, is it beginning to feel a lot like Christmas yet? It's very important for us all that it should, because this rubbish year, we're all in the mood, let's get going, let's get Christmas cracking," he said.

He asked for his fans to send him what they'll be doing, in regards to Christmas decorations. He asked about Christmas trees, and went on to say: "Do you like coloured lights or plain lights? What's your advice for getting through Christmas day with the family? I'd love to hear from you. Let's share questions, let's share that advice, let's share those opinions."

The social media updates come at a tough time for the pair - with rumours flying that they could be axed from their Friday This Morning TV presenting gig.
