How would you describe the style of your home? I live in a 15th-century farmhouse, but I think ‘style’ is a nonsense word. One room at home is very traditional and one is not; one’s full of rubbish and another’s very uncluttered. I happen to have quite a contemporary kitchen because they tend to be places where you need a bit of hygiene and I quite like glamorous bathrooms, but my favourite room is probably my office, which is full of books.
Ice hockey. It’s extremely fast and bloody; the closest you’ll get to watching gladiatorial combat today.
Classic novels. My favourite authors include Trollope and Dickens.
The Coen Brothers. They bring such a great offbeat humour to their films.
Throwaway culture. I don’t want anything that I buy to have done any harm to anyone or anything
Laziness. I get incredibly frustrated if people aren’t pulling their weight.
Smoked food. I just can’t bear the taste.
