As Strictly fans will already know, Brendan Cole was ditched from the show earlier this year – and he’s been keeping a low profile since.
But now it’s been reported by The Sun‘s Dan Wotton that the dancer is about to embark on a new venture, starring in a pantomime – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
And the former Strictly star will lead the show – which will take place in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire – in the role of Prince Charming.
We’re glad to see Brendan moving on, after he was left devastated by the BBC’s decision not to renew his contract.
“It’s quite hard to talk about,” he said at the time.
“The BBC haven’t renewed my contract… I’m a little bit in shock. I’m quite emotional, a bit raw about it. It’s done via a process of a phone call and stuff. I have had 15 incredible series on the show.
“I’m very proud of the whole show. It’s a great team. I’m disappointed. It’s very hard to talk about. It’s a recent decision.”
At the time, many other Strictly stars spoke out in support of Brendan, believing the show wouldn’t be the same without him. However, famously outspoken judge Craig Revel-Horwood had a different take on the matter. He said, “More fool him. The show’s done him wonders. It’s done us all wonders. It’s been fantastic. I would never complain about it.
“It’s given us all platforms on which to stand.”
Brendan’s been pretty busy since he left the show, having just welcomed baby number two with wife Zoe in March. He recently told The Sun, ‘We’ve just had a baby boy. Two weeks he’s been on the scene. He is gorgeous, of course, but it’s been a hard couple of weeks.’
Wycombe Swan, a local paper, claims the show will be a hoot. They said. “This year’s panto will be spectacularly brought to life with an abundance of comedy, sensational song and dance numbers, fabulous costumes and stunning scenery.”
Best of luck Brendan – we’re sure you’ll be brilliant!
