Courteney Cox admits that her daughter gets 'really embarrassed' by her sometimes
Courteney Cox's 17-year-old daughter Coco Arquette clearly keeps her mother in check when it comes to social media trends
Although fans are used to seeing Courtney Cox's daughter, Coco Arquette, all over her mother's Instagram feed, Courteney recently revealed that Coco is actually her biggest critic when it comes to social media.
Courteney, who has recently spoken up about embracing her age and dissolving fillers, opened up about her relationship with Coco in a new interview with InStyle. "Coco gets really embarrassed by a lot of the things I put on Instagram," she said. "Sometimes, I'll find something on TikTok and put it on Instagram and she'll say, 'Mom, that is so over.'"
Coco, whose dad is Courteney's ex-husband David Arquette, is also hesitant to join in on her mother's posts—as explained by the actor herself on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month. While chatting with the host, Courteney admitted that she needs to bribe Coco to convince her to join in on the social media fum.
"Well, first of all, I say, 'Do you mind doing a post with me?,'" Courteney said then. "[Coco will respond saying], 'Mom, stop using me for your Instagram!' I'm like, 'You use me all the time.' But I bribe her with 'You can go out' and, you know, 'stay out later, you can eat in your room.'"
We must admit that when Coco does make an appearance, it is always a memorable one.
Who can forget the time the mother-daughter duo sang a cover of Adele's Chasing Pavements and posted a video of the performance on Instagram? "I love my Coconut's voice," Courteney had captioned the video from last year, also featuring musician Joel Taylor on guitar.
Courteney is not the first star to be candid about her relationship with kids. Just a few weeks ago, superstar Mariah Carey revealed a very relatable parenting moment on Twitter that her fans are still giggling about.

The artist, who recently wore a gown in the pool to celebrate the anniversary of her famous album, posted a screenshot of a text conversation with one of her kids at 8:11pm. "Mommy please can I wear nails with glue," the first message read. After a brief exchange, Mariah responded with a "no"—an answer that was returned with the most classic response from a child: why.
Mariah captioned the screenshot, "The way my kids wait until the exact moment I get on a conference call to ask me these questions."
Every day more and more we realize that stars are clearly just like us.
