Smeg drops new matte collection - and it's about to become an even bigger obsession than their signature pastels
Smeg has launched a new matte collection of toasters and kettles to join their range of signature pastel shades
Smeg has launched a new matte collection of toasters and kettles to join their range of signature pastel shades.
For all of us die-hard interiors fans, retro Smeg appliances seem to have taken over the American-style fridge and snazzy best induction pans to become the new status symbol when it comes to the ultimate kitchen essentials.
Their pastel colors, rounded edges and polished finish add a touch of class and sophistication to any kitchen - making them an increasingly popular choice for anyone who’s into home decor and is after something more aesthetically pleasing than the usual black, white or grey options.
And now they’ve expanded their versatile design offering with a new color range that we can’t wait to snap up.
The signature 50’s style Smeg kettle and toaster are now available in three different colors that come with a smooth matte finish.
Offering a tactile difference as well as an aesthetic one, the matte finish gives the appliances a luxury satiny feel while ensuring a high-end look that will make people look twice when they walk into your kitchen.
Unlike the vast pastel collection, the matte collection only comes in three different shades, however the three shades available do add almost an aura of exclusivity to the range as they are three that ooze modern luxury.

The first color on offer is matte black, which would look fabulous in any monochrome kitchen setting or would really make a statement in a setting that features lots of clean white lines.

Secondly there’s the matte white option, which looks almost pearlescent in quality for a real high-end look.

And then there’s the matte gold or champagne that would be right at home in any kitchen setting that features neutral or earthy tones.

When it comes to features, the products boast the same goodies as the rest of the line.
The 1.7l kettle has a 3000 watt power output to ensure fast heating, a limescale filter that is essential for homes in hard water areas who are constantly having to descale their kettle and even features a snazzy soft close lid.
And we love the two-slice toaster that has 6 different heating levels as well as reheat, defrost and bagel functions and comes with a removable crumb tray for easy maintenance.
We’ve always been big fans of the range’s pastel collection, but we have to say - we might have just found a new favorite.
